US scientists want to collect soil samples worldwide development of new drugs

US scientists are calling for the public to join a global collection of soil samples action to facilitate their use of a particular component of soil development of new drugs.

Rockefeller University research team recently found in the soil samples a potential new antibiotics, scientists are therefore greatly encouraged, and intends to collect soil samples for testing from around the world.

The research team said that there are many uncultured bacteria in nature, can provide a lot of new organic molecules, many of which can be used to develop new drugs.

Genes encoding small molecule laboratory leader Dr. Brady said: “We hope that through our efforts to understand the nature and distribution of chemical diversity of microbial diversity, in order to discover new drugs and improve existing drugs.”

“We want to get help, I hope to be able to collect soil samples from around the world. After very interested if you’ve heard, then please join us!” The research team said.

So far, the research team has collected 185 samples from all over the world, these samples from beaches, forests and desert areas. Through analysis and detection, scientists have made some encouraging findings.
