Treatment of patients with advanced liver cancer breakthrough

Innovative technology is expected to be fast through the FDA

To encourage innovative pharmaceutical development, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently introduced a series of policies for the much-needed breakthrough innovation of new drugs approved the establishment of a fast-track approval policies and priorities.

Dr. Liu Cheng told reporters, “according to the current plan, expected to be completed in about gifted Riko early clinical trials in 2017, if the data confirmed that the safe and efficient technique for patients with liver cancer, will enter the fast-track passage, patient waiting time will be shortened . ”

Why liver cancer as the breakthrough point, Dr. Liu Cheng tells a story.

After graduating from the Department of Biology, Peking University, Dr. Liu Cheng came to the University of California at Berkeley to pursue a doctorate in biochemistry. A former Chinese school football teammate suddenly was diagnosed liver cancer, died less than two months.

“Intimate teammates in such a short time, it was claimed the lives of liver cancer, touched me particularly.” Dr. Liu Cheng told reporters.

Asian Liver Center at Stanford University data show that China’s approximately 120 million hepatitis B virus carriers, of which 50 to 100 million people suffer from liver cancer each year. Liver cancer early symptoms is not obvious, once diagnosed at an advanced stage.
