Local Motors Introduces 3D printing electric car Strati

With 3D printing technology swept the world in recent days, US manufacturers to take advantage of the launch of a 3D print of electric vehicles, and is expected to be sold during the year.

At the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit, USA Local Motors (local car) introduced this 3D printing EV Strati. Given that the product currently has a production conditions, the company plans to open two small factories in the United States, and is ready to be on sale later this year.

It is reported that, Strati frame, exterior and some interior are made by 3D printing, circuit lines, suspension, engine and other components are outsourced to other companies.

Currently, the company did not disclose pricing, but said it hopes the production time from the current 44 hours to about 24 hours. According to information provided by the company’s official website, Strati can start until after US authorities approved the road to 3D printing car regulatory rules.
