Genetic analysis proves the United States is a nation of immigrants mixed

Researchers from the United States three largest ethnic groups – the start of the genetic ancestors – European American, African American and Latino Americans. The classification is based on the definition of 23andMe’s customers on their own. But as people expected, in a country for hundreds of years, different ethnic groups meet and reproduce, genetic boundaries between the races has been quite vague.

Bryc explained: “You will see all the different ancestors in a race in.” For example, an African-American general genome contains 73.2% of Africans, 24 percent of Europeans and 0.8 percent Native American ancestry. At the same time, an average of 18 percent of Latino Americans Indians, 65.1% of Europeans (mainly from the Iberian Peninsula) and 6.2% of African descent.

Researchers recently on “American Anthropological Heredity” online edition reported its findings.

Although there may be changes in the mean, but at least 3.5% of European Americans have African ancestry. In South Carolina and Louisiana, about 12 percent of European-Americans have at least one percent of African descent. Meanwhile in Louisiana, about 8% of European Americans own at least 1% of Indian ancestry.

Was not involved in the study at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California, the city population geneticist Andres Moreno-Estrada believes that the new study is “a very good job.” He said: “Compared with other countries in the Americas, the United States has a very specific genetic imprinting.”
